Ross | Rethink Launches Bank of Support

-PRESS RELEASE –

On Thursday 17 June 2021 at 10:00 am, a new kind of Bank that meets the urgent needs of the people of Trinidad and Tobago during the current pandemic, will be launched by Ross | ReThink, with the kind support of the ANSA Mc AL Group, other members of the corporate community including Xtra Foods, Fineline Distributors, as well as registered NGO’s and civic-minded individuals. Called the Bank of Support, it is an online portal through which all persons in need can seek out support, and all those who wish to help others, can connect with them.

The Launch will include introductions and discussions by members of the Bank of Support Team, including Ernie Ross, Stacey Ryan and Chester Parris of Ross | ReThink, and Frances Bain-Cumberbatch of the ANSA Mc AL Group.

From Friday 18 June, the Bank will commence operations, opening online to everyone interested in receiving help or making deposits of support to those in need.

Interested persons can connect to the Bank by its WhatsApp number or its website to submit their information online, using either a Withdrawal Form to request help, or Deposit Form to offer support to those in need.

Once Bank of Support gets the information, it conducts an entire virtual process of putting those who are in need, directly or indirectly in touch with those who can provide Deposits of Support.

Deposits of Support could be anything requested by those in need, whether it be help to pay bills or essential items such as food.  It can either be a one-time offer of support or an ongoing one. The actual transaction process remains the same for all requests – between provider of support and receiver of the need.

Only resources or services shared in-kind through the Bank of Support are accepted, and then made accessible to those in need. Direct financial donations to the Bank of Support are not accepted.

Once the person in need has been served through Bank of Support, the person’s name can then be taken off the Bank’s list in order for others ‘in line’ to receive the help they request.

In the current state of need that many people are facing, Bank of Support is expected to be a welcome source of free support and relief for many.
